Turn Your Personal Strengths Into The Job You Want

It takes most people a long time to decide what they want to do with their lives.
When someone just graduates from high school, they rarely know for sure what it is they want to do with their life. Taking stock of one’s personality, strong points, weak points, likes and dislikes can often help in narrowing down the career possibilities for you. Getting the advice of others — friends, family members and career counselors — can also help.
The first step in choosing the ideal career is listing your strengths and weaknesses. What is it that you are good at? What activities are you bad at? It’s much easier to do activities that you are good at versus struggling to accomplish things you are bad at. Think about what kind of work environment you want to be in — an office, outdoors, huge company, small company, retail, industrial or service.
The second step involves examining all of the various jobs and careers in the state or region you want to work in and see how these occupations line up with your personal preferences and characteristics that you noted above. Picture yourself actually performing the work. Think about what your work day would be like. Consider the work hours, commuting, and relations with customers and coworkers. Try to find a couple that you think would be ideal for you.
Phase three is the action step. Here is where you make the commitment to get the knowledge, skills and training you need to get your first job. For most people, this means going to school. Many students are opting for an associate degree from a local community college as a practical, affordable way to start. Some students will stop at the associate’s degree, while others will transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Some people will favor a service apprentice program versus classroom study. The key is to take some action and get moving forward towards getting that first job.
Once you have acquired the preparation and formal training, your fourth step is to develop a strategy for getting your first job in that desired field. You will start with writing the best resume you can which describes your abilities, work and personal history. You will also compose a great cover letter to introduce yourself.
Most positions are filled by networking and knowing someone who can introduce you to the person or persons who will be making the hiring decision. It may not sound fair, but that is the truth. Be sure to be totally prepared for the interview process, because you will only have one chance to make a good impression. Anticipate the questions and rehearse the answers beforehand.
One day, you will have that great job that you worked so hard to get. And, hopefully, you will also like your job once you get it. But just because you have your job, you can’t just relax. You should constantly be moving forward, learning new processes, taking more classes and taking the initiative to become more and more valuable to your company. Try to become an employee that your company can’t do without.

Asbestos Found In Three Arizona High Schools
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has slammed three Arizona Charter schools with fines for violating the ‘AHERA’, the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act. The Act is in place to regulate, inspect, catalogue and handle asbestos in all US schools.
The 1986 Act highlights 8 main precautions that must be taken to protect students and staff from exposure to the lethal material. These steps include training maintenance staff on asbestos awareness and handling, conducting a six month periodic survey of asbestos sources, creating an asbestos management plan that is accessible to all staff and parents, ensure ongoing documentation of all asbestos related activity.
The use of asbestos is outlawed so these rules exist to ensure that any pre-existing material is monitored by trained professionals and to make sure it isn’t damaged by renovations or age. The EPA considers asbestos safe as long as it is in tact but once broken or exposed, it releases microscopic fibres which can lead to several forms of unique yet fatal cancer.
The most prominent form of asbestos related cancer is Mesothelioma which breaks down the protective linings surrounding the lungs, heart and organs. It usually lies dormant for up to five decades, making it notoriously difficult to monitor or catch at an early stage. One manifested, it usually results in a prognosis of around one year to live.
The schools in Arizona were guilty of failing to conduct initial inspections or developing an asbestos management plan. As well as these schools there were five others that broke similar regulations but were lucky enough to be found to not contain any asbestos.
The EPA fined the schools almost $30,000 and they are now all in compliance with AHERA regulations. One of the worst offenders, Cave Creek High School in Phoenix, was fined for failure of ongoing inspections after it documented 12,580 square feet of asbestos-containing building material on its premises.
Following the publication of these breach of regulations, many of the students have undergone health checks to make sure they were not affected by any exposure, if so they could be eligible for a mesothelioma claim as long as they hire a decent asbestos lawyer.
Book4u – The Perfect Answer For Teacher-student Yearbooks Needs

Book4U is a new Australia based service that allows teachers to effectively print their students’ work in a book format. The application allows the printing of a vast assortment of books such as class books, graduation books, project books and yearbooks. All you have to do is to use the interface provided on the website; you don’t have to download anything-this becomes the greatest advantage of Book4U. There are a large number of features which can be used to give each book a distinct style, due to which teachers and students can ensure a different looking book each time.
For the teachers, Book4U is a veritable boon. Since the system automates everything, the teachers don’t have to face the burden of making the books themselves. The templates of the books are automatically prepared by Book4U and then these teachers need to just give them a different look using the features provided and they are done. In no time, they will have the finished book ready to use.
All teachers have to register on the website. These teachers can then add their students, each of whom will have their own logins as well. The students can submit their files individually which can be in the Word, Photoshop, Publisher or any other such similar format. It is possible for every student to send files on an individual basis, or even a group of students can work on a single file and then send it. Building a book here requires collaboration and every person is expected to submit something or the other toward the book that is being made.
It is the teacher looking into the book’s creation who will decide how the book must look when done. Various things can be done during the formation stage of the book-the teacher can call for some modifications and additions or deletions as needed. It is the teacher’s job to give the book a definite shape when done. It is only when everyone is satisfied with how the book looks is the decision made to get the book printed. This approval is indicated by the teacher.
But what makes Book4U so great? Quite evidently, the teachers are beaming about this application; they don’t have to get totally flustered when making books for their students. The application also helps in making students think more and tap into their creative potential because every student can be easily asked to give something for the creation of the book. Everyone can keep track of what is happening with the book and they can decide when it is really completed and must go for printing. Apart from all this, the fact that the Book4U system requires no software download is also something that adds to the convenience.
Create yearbooks your own way. Yearbooks, graduation books and more.
