Hypnotism And Hypnotherapy Have Significant Benefits

Hypnotism and hypnotherapy have long been recognized for the benefits they can bring. In the last one hundred years, it has been studied, tested, and refined. Today it provides benefits for millions of people.
For as long as people have existed, they have looked for different means to alleviate suffering and improve themselves. The fields of psychology, medicine, and psychology developed in order to try to understand and improve the human condition.
Over time, there have been many different approaches to “alternative” healing and self-improvement. Hypnotherapy and hypnosis fall into this category.
Even though skeptics may scoff at these alternative methods, there is actually a lot of good science behind it. Psychologists and social scientists have known for some time that it is our subconscious mind that controls most of our behaviors and attitudes. In order to unlock some of these stumbling blocks, we must bypass our “rational” or “reasoning” mind. Fears, habits, and motivations can be reached and modified. Very often, this results in achieving goals we have been struggling with that aren’t amenable to more traditional types of efforts.
The reasons for undergoing hypnotherapy or hypnosis are numerous. They include relief from both physical and emotional disorders, as well as the desire to reach one’s potential and improve one’s self.
Hypnotism can address depression, anger, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, as well as physical problems like over-eating and weight loss.
Hypnosis can also be very effective in overcoming various negative habits and addictions like cigarette smoking, drug and alcohol abuse, and gambling.
Hypnosis has even been used to treat the symptoms of severe medical problems like cancer and diabetes. Surgical patients have been able to undergo pain-free surgery with minimal anesthesia, and recovery times are reduced.
Hypnotism and hypnotherapy isn’t the ultimate “cure-all”, or even necessarily the best available alternative. But is has become increasingly clear that there are wonderful and lasting benefits to this type of therapy and self-help.

What Do You Do When You Get Bored?
July 28, 2010 by Petra Smirnoff
If you’re anything like me you have a long list of things you’d like to do and you’re always busy working on things you enjoy. But then what happens when you’re stuck doing something you don’t want to do? People who get very passionately excited also tend to get very frustratingly bored if being held back from what they want to do.
So how do you deal with the fact that there are so many fun things to do but you just have to get this boring task done. You can’t just ditch it because your boss, your coworkers, your family, your friends, your lecturers or a committee you volunteered to help are relying on you. You can’t find anyone else to do it and its just got to be done now!
Here are a number of ideas that you can use to get past your next bout of boredom. I personally hate being bored so I use one or a combination of these things all the time.
1) Set yourself a task-based goal with a personal project as the reward. Put all your energy into your boring task immediately and do not stop until the task is finished. As soon as you are finished the boring task indulge in your personal project to your heart’s content.
2) Reduce the number of boring tasks you have to do in the first place by delegating them to someone else. You might not be able to get rid of everything that is boring, but if you give delegating a go you might be surprised at what you can let go. When it comes to personal tasks like ironing and cleaning you will need to pay someone, but at work you might even find some willing takers, and your good delegation skills could end up getting you a promotion!
3) Ask a friend to help or just keep you company. Recently I was moving house and a friend offered to come visit while I was packing. Well that was the best idea ever! I think I packed more things during the couple of hours on the two nights that she visited than I did on my own for the whole rest of the week.
4) Split your task up into milestones so that you can measure your percentage complete. If you know that you have to make twenty sales calls, or write a three thousand word essay, you have numbers that you can measure against. If feels good to make four calls and know that you’re 20% done, or hit word count after writing a couple more paragraphs.
5) Here’s an idea from Barbara Sher in Refuse to Choose. She suggests you can turn your task into part of an imaginary drama or storyline and amuse yourself silly with it! Pretend your task is part of a lead-up to an exciting adventure or mystery!
6) Listen to, or even sing along to music. Fast, loud pop is great for tedious physical tasks, whereas classical might be better if you have to concentrate. I don’t like music at all for focused tasks that I enjoy, but it is a welcome relief when I’m bored.
7) Do two or more different boring tasks at the same time. The alternating of the two boring tasks might add enough variety to make you feel more interested than if you did only one task at a time.
Alternate the boring task with an interesting one. This was the only way I could get myself to clean my room as a kid. I would set myself the goal of picking up and putting away 10 items, and in return I would allow myself to read just one page of whatever book I was into at the time. Even these days I sometimes alternate doing my paid work with reading the news.
9) Time yourself with a stopwatch to see how long you take to get the job done. Then next time the same job comes around, make it a game – work hard to beat your personal best speed. Soon you’ll be getting it done in a flash.
10) Use a timer to section off short sprints as though you were interval training. Set the timer for 5, 10 or 15 minutes and work as fast as you can during that time. Plan your day so that you can space out enough short sprints to get the task done. I used this method when I took a job as a work-from-home telephone market researcher during my university studies. I had about two hours per day of calls to do, but I could handle only 20 minutes at a time. I spaced the phonecalls at intervals during my day around my uni homework and that kept me on track.
11) Instead of wasting your time doing the same task repeatedly, see if you can find a way to set up an automated system for getting the task done. This is particularly the case with anything done on the computer. For example, when I started my career in IT I took a job as a software tester, but then I realised that I hated testing because I found the step-by-step regression tests to be particularly tedious. To make the task better, I learned how to use an automated testing software package and wrote some scripts that would do the specific mouse clicks for me. I topped it off by writing an instruction manual to teach the other members on my team how to do it too.

Learning About Premonitions
July 28, 2010 by Angeline Duport
Premonitions are experiences where you see details about future events. These experiences might be unsettling – many people feel nervous, uneasy, anxious, or a general feeling of disquiet, even when they have experienced a premonition that does not have anything to do with a bad event. However, the term “premonition” generally refers to seeing unpleasant events, such as a major disaster in the person’s future, or that of someone they care about.
People that experience premonitions often times so hear or see things that will happen in the future. It is common to experience these just prior to an event that will be very emotional like a death, an accident, or another occurrence that is unfortunate. Premonitions can come forth while the person is awake but are more likely to present when they are asleep, like other psychic phenomenon. Our conscious minds usually stop us from having getting a good sense of understanding about the future when we are awake.
A large portion of premonitions have to do with our senses and many people actually have the experience of the emotional distress for absolutely no reason while they are experiencing it. This feeling is difficult to describe if they have seen that something terrible is about to occur. Distance is not something that comes in to play when a person has a premonition about someone that they care about and the premonitions are about times that could not have been foretold by anyone.
Most premonitions involve events that will occur to the person having the vision, someone that they love like a relative or a dear friend, or anyone else that they may have an attachment with emotionally.
But why are premonitions often experienced when things are about to turn bad and not when the good things are going to happen? This could possibly be the same reason that it is more difficult to see things when we are awake then when we are asleep. If there is no force there to overrule our minds, the conscious minds that we have will overrule the less logical information that comes in and we are not able to process it.
The conscious mind is much less effective when we are sleeping and when we are under a great amount of stress. It is not able to maintain control over our unconscious minds and this is the part that allows us to see premonitions. That is why people are typically only able to see the future perceptions when the outcome is going to be negative. There are those, though, that can see the positive events in the future.
There have been several people that are able to see the positive events that will occur in the future. While many people see this as fortune telling or prophecy rather than a premonition, it is the same effect as a premonition. Knowledge about what will happen in the future is being told in the present.
No one knows for sure why these phenomenon occur. Some would say that they’re simply another form of dream, but this does not explain the eerie accuracy of some people’s premonitions and prophetic dreams. Details that could not have been known beforehand are reproduced down to the smallest piece of information. There are a lot of theories about why we experience premonitions and prophetic visions or dreams, but so far, none of them are objectively verifiable. We just know that many people report having this kind of experience.
There are those that believe that a divine force such as God or a universal spirit is responsible for the vision of the future. Others believe that it is all part of time being nonlinear – we are simply remembering things that are going to happen because all at once, these things are happening. Other people believe that time is just circling and that we are recalling things that happened during the last cycle of time. One other theory points to a web of energy that connects everything in the world and that the information is simply passed through the web.
No matter how exactly the premonitions happen, it is possible to make them occur when we are conscious. While it is not something that can happen easily and it is very rare, we can force our conscious mind to remove the control and not allow our imagination to take control and mislead us. Using a great deal of practice and efforts there are people that have successfully produced intentional prophetic visions and premonitions.
This can be done in several different ways and they all are largely different depending on the person. Some use meditation and prayer and others need extreme concentration and isolation.
The visions that people have are not always regarding things that are very important. In fact, some people only experience unimportant things that are going to happen. The truly life changing events seem to be hidden in their minds. It is possible, though, with the right amount of effort and using the technique that works for you, having intentional premonitions can come forward.

The Difference Between The Right And Left Side Of The Brain And What Happens When They Cannot Communicate
July 22, 2010 by Mallory Megan

The human brain is an amazing thing. Doubtlessly, you have heard someone described as “right brained” or “left brained” at least once in your life. Psychologists accentuate the difference between the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere of the brain, describing the left brain as logical, rational, analytical and objective. The right brain is the “creative” side, associated with aesthetics, feelings, intuition, and subjectivity. In reality, the differences between the right brain and the left brain might be exaggerated in popular culture, however there still are some key differences between the two.
The left brain specializes in language functions like grammar, vocabulary, speaking and writing. The right brain is sometimes referred to as the “mute side of the brain,” excelling at nonverbal and spatial tasks, being linked to artistic ability and facial perception.
Some data suggests that the left hemisphere comes into play most when well rehearsed or routine processing is involved, and the right hemisphere comes into play when it comes to processing novel situations. The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body, and the right hemisphere controls the left side. But many simple tasks require both hemispheres to be involved, and thus communication between the two is necessary.
This is where the corpus callosum comes into the situation. It ties the two hemispheres together and makes coordination and communication between the two possible. The corpus callosum lies along the fissure between the right and left brain and is responsible for transferring different types of information from one side to the next.
At times, though, a procedure named corpus callosotomy is necessary, generally a last resort to treat intractable epilepsy. This surgery results in the corpus callosum being severed to a certain degree. At first, doctors will only try to remove one third of the corpus callosum, but if epileptic seizures persist, another one third will be lesioned, leaving only one third of the corpus callosum, and most information transfer between the two hemispheres greatly reduced. To be continued in part two….

Do We Already Have Manifestation In Our Lives?
July 21, 2010 by William J Hill

The benefits of manifestation can be potentially huge. This is not some power or gift that only the chosen few in life can have. It is something that anyone in life can obtain and possess. With it you can open up your mind to possibilities you may never have thought were possible before.
Manifestation I think is something installed in every one of us a baby. Baby wants feeding. Baby wants changing. What does baby do? He or she will cry and cry and cry until you give him or what they want. The baby has thus got what it wants through manifestation.
We all think we lead hectic lives running around trying to please everyone, working as hard as we can at work and even running around just so we can have a relaxing weekend. It does not have to be like that, rush, and rush all the time. With manifestation we can stop the clock and slow down and relax more and be just happy.
Manifestation can help you get that new job or promotion at work. It is not that hard. You need to focus on your goal and approach it logically. Don’t let other things in your life distract you from your goals. Belief in yourself and tell yourself this everyday and your confidence will your and manifest itself in your desired goal. Some it happens for overnight some it takes a little longer. Whatever you must open your mind to the possibilities and never give in.
Once you can do it imagine the possibilities? You will feel an extreme sense of well being inside as if you can do anything with manifestation. You will feel calmer, energetic, and confident, have more faith in yourself and be open to new things in life.
Politicians use it all the time. They have a goal to stay in power or win power. They need to give the public what they want. For example lower taxes may win them power. This is a big task that needs to be broken down focusing on the main taxes i.e. income tax and Value Added Tax. Staying committed to this main area and constantly concentrating on it with willpower and confidence oozing showing the public you know what you are doing works.
People like winners. Winners get the job, the car and the ideal partner this is what Manifestation helps you to do but only if you are willing and patient. It all inside your mind. It’s probably not bad luck or luck that sees where you are in life it’s how you react to situations and how well you use your own mind.
Manifestation helps you efficiently use your mind more effectively leading to a better and happier style of life. Only you can help yourself at the end of the day. Nobody should have to be second best in life or unhappy with life.

Secrets Of Manifesting
July 21, 2010 by Simone Walker
The meaning of the term manifesting is to make something perceivable by the senses. At least that is what the dictionaries tell us. In simpler words it means materializing things or makings something happen in reality.
So if we talk about manifesting one’s dreams, it would mean making the dream happen in reality so that people can see and feel it.
Manifesting is an art which is drawn on the canvas of a human mind. Human mind is a place of infinite power and energy. It is something which can manifest anything and everything that it so desires provided it wants to use the energy or the power it has in doing this.
Everyone has this power in their minds but it is something that they do not exercise since their minds have been trained to belief in the fact that manifesting dreams is solely dependant on chance. That you can make your dreams come true only by hard work, struggle and a dash of luck. But the truth is that dreams get manifested by the power of your thoughts and the driving force of your positive energy.
Everything in the universe is energy. If you seek the explanation of the ultimate truth or the origin of the universe, whichever path you choose be it science or spirituality, ultimately you will come to the concept of energy. Energy can be present either as a wavelength or in a particle form. In case of energy in a particle form, it is perceivable with your five senses. You can see and touch it. But in case of energy in the wavelength form, it is free flowing and has full potential with all possibilities attached to it.
If one wants the realm of possibilities to manifest itself into reality then one needs to focus all their attention and energy on it.
Manifesting your dreams, desires and wants into reality requires three steps. That is, your attention, energy and time is needed for making the wavelength, amplitude and frequency of the energy to manifest itself. Firstly, focus on the thing that you want, directing all your thoughts on it and asking it from the universe. In this way you shall reach the wavelength of the energy. The second and the most important part is to connect to the amplitude of the energy. Amplitude refers to the amount of energy present in the wave. In order to do this you need to actually visualize yourself in attaining the object of your want and charge this image with your own energy.
Remember, more than 50% of the word attraction is action, hence in attracting the object of your will for manifestation; spending time for repeated action towards it is required. Get rid off all the negative energy by avoiding negative thoughts and experience the power of positive energy with the power of faith. The power of your thought and the positive energy radiating from you due to your attention, belief and faith will lead your desire to manifest itself in reality.

How You Can Really Attract Abundance
July 15, 2010 by Donna Stevens
There is some truth in the saying that “life is what we make it”. We can’t have the life shaped by other people for us. It’s hard to savor success if we didn’t strive to have it. Earned success is very much different from given achievements since you don’t get to savor the hardships before success. For those who strive hard just to attract abundance truly appreciate and treasure what they have for it takes a lot of perseverance just to be in their situation.
This is the reason why there is a need for us to dream about those things that we would like to happen in our daily lives. We should be able to work our way in order to achieve something and be inspired to work our way for it. Bear in mind that there is nothing impossible as long as we dream and do our very best in order to reach for our goals and aspirations. We need should be able to competently believe in all our capabilities so we would competently overcome hindrances which may block our way.
Can you do anything and everything just to be able to attain success? You should be proud to answer YES to this question. In case we simply don’t trust ourselves then chances are we will never see any happening that may signal that we are heading through the journey of “success”. We must be able to reach for that life which is packed with comfort and convenience which is only attainable the moment when we trust our inner power so we can achieve what we desire.
In order for us to experience abundance then we should strive to think positive so we can realize that everything is possible. We can see that dreams are close enough that we can reach for them if only we start to work in attaining what we wish our lives to be. It is us that drive success into our lives so we need to take extra care for us not to give up the moment we were able to meet some obstacles along the way.
We are the masters of our destiny. No one has the right to rule over our lives and you can’t blame anyone for what happened and what will happen to you. Others may affect your life in one way or another but you have the power to rule your life and reject the opinion of others.
In case we would like to rule our lives then this is the time to realize that we are also given the need to decide what gets to stay in our life, this will include those characters that we need. The manner that we think can greatly affect the way that we can attract abundance.
To attract abundance, we need to improve ourselves in any way possible. It is necessary to know yourself from head to foot. Identify your strengths and weakness for it will help you in the long run. Enhance your strong assets and find ways to improve your weakness.
The law of attraction says that what you think about you attract. This simply connotes that by the time when we think positively then we can see positive results. The same is true in case we permit negative thoughts to rule our own life.
It may not be easy at first but in the long run, you can do it! The best of luck to you.

The Repeated Pattern: Marriage – Divorce – Marriage – Divorce – Divorce – Divore
July 14, 2010 by Margaret Hardisty
Some people feel that if they never live with someone outside of marriage, it’s okay to divorce if their expectations aren’t met and then get married to someone else. Why bother to save a marriage if the going gets hard and, heaven forbid, if I can’t have things my own way? When their second marriage does not work out they get another divorce and move on to the next failed attempt.
It’s kind of like looking for the Fountain of Youth to search for lasting happiness in that way. You will never find happiness by chance.
Certain celebrities are notorious because they’ve been married numerous times – like Elizabeth Taylor, a star of the past who was one of the most beautiful women of her time and played in many notable movies. Did she even try to save any of her marriages, even those through whom she had children? So maybe she did try but did any of the men she was married to?
We’ll give her this one: She always married her interests, rather than just living with them. To keep herself true to her standards that also meant stealing husbands from their wives. At least that was true in at least one case when she lured singer Eddie Fisher away from his then wife, Debbie Reynolds. Eddie Fishers children have acknowledged that this ruined their relationship.
These days Elizabeth Taylor keeps her love life private, but may have given up the marrying philosophy. She reportedly has been living with a guy for a long time at the time of this writing but now, supposedly, is thinking she’ll take her 8th leap into matrimony.
Hollywood also seems to glorify have women on the side while still married. Larry King, for instance. Still married to Shawn Southwick in his 8th marriage, senior Larry supposedly has been having an affair with his sister-in-law, Shannon Engemann, for the past five years. Similar stories of the rich and famous abound. It’s got to be the rich and famous part of it where he’s concerned, wouldn’t you think? He certainly isn’t getting the women by his good looks. (The latest is that he and his wife have decided to save their marriage – possibly because of their two small children.)
So…are these glittering, wealthy beyond measure super stars happy? Come on. We know better. Their happiness is momentary – situational. So, why aren’t their riches and beautiful partners enough? Why aren’t they joyful continually having one sexual partner after another? The reason is because the human being was created by God to be monogamous. Having sex with someone outside of marriage will always bring turmoil to the soul. Promiscuous sex messes lives up and statistics prove it.
Lasting happiness eludes such a person, celebrity or not. If these types of individuals are happy on earth by some quirk, they won’t be happy after they leave this earth. Everyone has to stand and account for their lives before God.
Last time we checked, He made the rules. The rule says, keep it inside marriage. To quote an old saying, hitch your wagon to a star – but not a star like those we’ve just talked about. Spiritually they are blind and their sojourn on earth, as wild and appealing as it may seem for the time, is very short. Instead, determine to make your present marriage superb. We show you how to do just that in our books and material at the Love Relationship Headquarters.

Understanding Projection Of Astral Body
July 13, 2010 by Michael Kranyk
Projection of astral body as the name suggests is all about projecting one’s inner self, his soul, spirit or aura from the bondage of the physical body to the higher ethereal realms of consciousness, commonly known as astral planes.
There are two models reflecting two different thought process or beliefs where projection of astral body is concerned. These are the Phasing Model and the Mystical Model which are two distinctly different school of thoughts regarding what projection of astral body is all about.
According to the Mystical Model, astral planes are believed to be located at higher ethereal realms external to one’s physical body and the projection of one’s astral body takes place from the physical body, outwards and upwards to these higher levels of consciousness. Thus, this model believes in the externality of the entire phenomenon.
More in-depth into this line of thought, projection of astral body involves creation of this subtle energy body within oneself and thereafter projecting it outside its physical body to the higher astral planes. The astral body thus projected remains connected to the physical one by a silver, umbilical energy cord.
There have been numerous books written on the subject of projection of astral body. The most popular ones on the Mystical Model are those of ‘Out of Body Experiences’, ‘Astral Dynamics’ and ‘Projection of Astral Body’ written by Robert Peterson, Robert Bruce, Carrington and Muldoon respectively.
According to the Phasing Model, projection of astral body is not about projecting one’s inner self to an externally located astral plane as given by the Mystical Model. Rather, it talks about the physical existence and the astral body as the two extremes or two distinct phases on the same consciousness spectrum.
Defined by Robert Munroe, this model gives the view of projection of astral body as an internal phenomenon where the projection occurs to a different phase of consciousness and not to an externally located plane of existence. Thus, the phasing Model is more in line with the belief that the external reality of an individual is an internally created state of his.
It must be said at this point that clarity regarding the validity or effectiveness of either of these two above mentioned models still remains to be proved. Moreover, discussions and debates regarding whether each and every physical aspect has its corresponding astral counterpart or whether spirits reincarnate in physicals bodies resulting in the entire phenomenon of astral projection are still some things that mankind is involved in while some believe that projection of astral body is due to something entirely different from all this.
It can be concluded that identification of the philosophies that good in case of projection of astral body still remains to be seen but an undoubted fact remains that astral projection is an experience of a lifetime and thereby develops an individual’s outlook or mindset forever, towards aspects such as life, death, his true potential, relationships and reality.
