If you have decided to purchase a Samsung Vibrant, you will have one of the most sought after smart phones on the market today. As a recent addition from the popular Samsung, the Vibrant is an excellent smart phone with numerous features, such as a dazzling four inch multi touch display and a camera shooting 5 megapixel photos and shooing 1280 x 720 720p high definition video. As a result, many smart phone owners consider their phones to be investments, and as a result, a booming industry of accessories has sprung up to help owners protect their investments, as well as enhance their functionality.

You can purchase all kinds of Samsung Vibrant accessories to help you get the most out of your smart phone and protect it from damage when you are out living life. Despite the stand by two week battery life, the Samsung Vibrant will still benefit from a charger in the long run. Having a car charger is a great way to ensure you don’t run out of battery power in the middle of a conversation while you are in your car. And for when you aren’t driving, Samsung Vibrant desktop chargers are used by some smart phone owners who want to be able to keep their smart phones topped off while they are at home.

If you have never purchased a smart phone case before, you may not know the variety of cases available for the Samsung Vibrant. While there are many manufacturers with many products on the market, most decisions about cases to purchase will typically come down to whether you want a leather case or a plastic case. Each type of case has its advantages and disadvantages. Let’s first talk about plastic cases. In general, plastic cases come in three strengths, which depend on the materials from which they are made. The lightest and least durable or protective cases are those that are essentially screen protectors; these are good for keeping dust and light scratches off your Samsung Vibrant, but they won’t effectively protect the Vibrant from a fall.

Next comes soft silicone cases, which will offer stronger and more effective protection than its screen protector counterparts. Last but not least, there are the hard plastic cases. These will typically be the most expensive of the three, but they’ll also offer the most protection.

However, while you may want a case for your Samsung Vibrant, you might want to put on a leather case. Leather cases are generally more fancier and stylish than their plastic counterparts. They look better, which may make people more likely to use them. But their protection usually lacks in comparison to the type of security a good plastic case can provide.

Why I Love My Samsung Vibrant

September 2, 2010 by Mark Edwons

I like the Samsung Vibrant because of its beautiful four inch AMOLED display, its smooth and modernistic design, and its rich variety of entertainment. The four inch display is a gift to my eyes. I have never had a display so realistic on a phone; the amount of detail visible on the screen is nothing short of amazing. Regardless of whether I’m indoors or outdoors, the anti-reflective feature of the display allows me to view videos, play games, or browse the internet with comfort. And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant screen protectors available online or in stores, I can carry my Vibrant with me and enjoy the beautiful display without worrying about it getting damaged in my pocket or while on the go.

The second reason I prefer the Samsung Vibrant is because of its sleek and modernistic design. The Vibrant has a lightweight build and an attractive look. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a slimmer smart phone. Its thin, light, and attractive design makes me want to take it everywhere with me, and whenever I pull it out, I turn heads. I’ve never thought about a phone as a fashion accessory before, but with my Vibrant, I realize I’m holding something stylish in my hands, and so do all of my friends.

And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant accessories available online or in stores, if there’s anything I need for my Vibrant, such as a case to prevent scratches during use, I can purchase accessories to ensure my Vibrant continues to look sleek and modernistic.

The third reason I like the Samsung Vibrant is because of its extensive offerings for entertainment and creativity. I was delighted to hear that every Vibrant came included with the blockbuster hit Avatar, the 3D film that impressed audiences throughout the world. Now I can watch it whenever I want, thanks to my Vibrant! And every movie I watch will be available with a spectacular 3D sound system inside the phone.

And when I don’t feel like watching movies, I can play The Sims 3 Mobile Edition, which also comes with every Vibrant. Or if I feel like reading something, there are potentially 600,000 different books I can select from the Amazon Kindle application that comes with Android and my Vibrant. And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant batteries available online or in stores, I can take my Vibrant with me everywhere I go, safe with the knowledge that I will be able to replace the battery if it dies while I am in the middle of enjoying one of the many entertainment features that come with the Vibrant.

T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide Specs And Features

These Android smartphones continue to grow in numbers, but how does one distinguish itself from the many others? Consider that most smartphones are basically rebadged variants of several core designs and that question suddenly seems much more tricky to answer. However difficult, an answer does exist, and any provider seeking a template may want to look toward the amazingly successful myTouch 3G Slide. In this particular case, T-Mobile has been able to stand out with potent, innovative software that is unlike anything else on the market. Then, they paired all of that power with an unparalleled variety of customization options in the form of myTouch 3G Slide accessories, cases and screen protectors. So with that out of the way, let us examine the top features of this brilliant smartphone.

According the development team at T-Mobile, the company spent four times the amount of time developing the software for the Slide than what they spent on the last smartphone they did. Why would they do this? Well, they saw it as an investment which would not only be used for the Slide but will provide the core functionality for all other future devices down the line. Knowing the amount of time and money that went into the software development will establish high expectations. It will not disappoint.

It all starts with the heavily modified HTC Sense interface that includes 45 expertly modified widgets. Some popular features, such as the home screen shortcuts and themed notification bar, are there and intact. Three of the core features that really enhance the user experience are the Faves Gallery, MyModes, and the Genius button. The Faves Gallery is an all-in-one networking hub that aggregates email, text messages, and contact status. MyModes is an amazing feature that changes the device theme, including the sounds and homescreens, based on time, location, or both. This feature is likely to become an industry-wide feature. The Genius button activates the voice recognition system that allows you make phone calls, compose text messages, and even search the web, all through voice commands. You probably already know that that Android 2.1 software supports voice recognition through Google’s services. However, what is neat here is that the Slide uses “hybrid architecture” so that it can work locally using its own technology or in the cloud using Google’s.

Although focusing the myTouch 3G Slide with only these three features tend to oversimplify it overall, it does highlight how T-Mobile has managed to set itself apart in a sea of fierce competition. The phone also includes all of the must have features, such as a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, Outlook synchronization, and all the apps you’d expect on any Android smartphone. T-Mobile has also included extra apps that don’t come standard on other phones, such as myMusic, which is similar to Pandora, and Quick Office, which includes the game Abduction.

The phone is an excellent little gamer device, thanks in part to the additional memory. It plays a game like Raging Thunder 2 flawlessly despite it being unplayable on much of the competition.

The myTouch 3G Slide is a great phone for everyday users. To protect your investment purchase themyTouch 3G Slide accessories, please visit Think Mobile Solutions and choose the best mytouch 3G Slide screen protectors for your needs.

The Advancement of the Keylogger

A keylogger is a program that runs in the bottom of your computer secretly recording all keystrokes. Once you record the keystrokes are hidden for later retrieval by the attacker. The attacker then carefully reviews the information with the hope of finding passwords or other information that might be useful to them. For example, a keylogger can easily obtain additional email addresses confidential and disclose all outside interest groups willing to pay for information.

Keyloggers can be software or hardware based. software-based keyloggers are easy to distribute and infect, but at the same time, are more easily detectable. Hardware-based keyloggers are more complex and harder to detect. For all you know, the keyboard may have a keylogger chip attached and nothing is written is written to a flash memory sitting inside your keyboard. Keyloggers have become one of the most powerful applications used for gathering information in a world where encrypted traffic is becoming more common.

As most advanced keyloggers, the ability to detect them becomes more difficult. It may violate the privacy of a user for months or even years without being noticed. During this time, a keylogger can collect a large amount of information about you that is tracking. A keylogger can potential obtain not only passwords and log-in names, but credit card numbers, bank details, contacts, interests, habits, web browsing, and more. All information collected can be used to steal personal documents, money or even identity.

A keylogger can be as simple as a. Exe y. DLL that is inserted into a computer and enable booting an entry in the registry. On the other hand, more sophisticated keyloggers, such as the Perfect Activity Monitor Keylogger or Bot has developed a full line of nasty abilities including:

Located on the list of processes and invisible in operation
A keylogger driver that captures keystrokes of the nucleus, even when the user disconnects
A remote deployment wizard
The ability to create screenshots of active applications text
The ability to capture HTTP POST data (including log-ins/passwords)
The ability to timestamp record of use of workstations
HTML and export the log file text
Email Automatic log file delivery

All keyloggers are not used for illegal purposes. A variety of other applications have emerged. Keyloggers have been used to monitor web sites visited as a tool for parental control over children. Have been used actively to prevent child pornography and avoid children coming into contact with dangerous elements on the web. Moreover, in December 2001, a federal court ruled that the FBI does not need a special wiretap order to place a recording device keystrokes on a suspect computer. The judge allowed the FBI to keep details of your device to record the secret key (citing national security concerns). The defendant in the case, Nicodemo Scarfo Jr., accused of gambling and predatory lending, uses encryption to protect a file on your computer. The FBI used the record button device to capture Scarfo and password to access the necessary files ….

A Review Of The Ooma Telo Handset

August 30, 2010 by Chris Channing

Buying the Ooma Telo is a cost-effective purchase. With it, you will need a handset to direct phone calls to. The Ooma Telo handset must be purchased separately, so Ooma customers do have a decision to make in whether or not they want the company headset, or a different one.

Compared to other headsets, you will pay about the same price for the Ooma Telo handset. You may find coupons in some retailers that will get you below the $50 that the piece usually sells for. Sometimes Ooma has promotions where existing customers may give out coupons to others who do not already have the Ooma voice over IP system.

The Ooma panel has a lot of good reviews for being so easy to use. One way to sync the contacts in your phone with the online contacts list is to simply press the sync button on the headset. This feature is only available on the Ooma headset, and not others. You will save time where you would otherwise have to manually type in names and numbers on the number pad- a tedious chore!

Ooma users get much more than just a phone. The Ooma headset also doubles over as an intercom system. So long as you have enough headsets and the required base station, you can contact other phones in the house much like you would a two-way system. It can also act as a baby monitor, which can go for $50 by itself. The Ooma headset is quite versatile in what it can do, and for the price, it’s astounding.

The speed of the device is likely the worst thing about the headset. It just doesn’t feel so responsive like a phone should. When cycling through contacts or features in the phone, you will notice that the lag period between pushing a button and seeing the phone react can be easily noticed. It doesn’t kill the phone entirely, but it’s definitely something the Ooma team should have seen and fixed before releasing the headset to the public.

Last but not least, we have the design of the phone. There are no complaints in the design department. It’s a futuristic looking phone with large numbers, buttons, and easy to read symbols. It doesn’t take much time at all to learn what the different buttons do, and the menu system can easily be figured out without having to look at the manual. The only bad thing to say is that the phone has an LED that is always on when its charging- and a bright one at that.

Closing Comments

You won’t have many complaints about the Ooma Telo headset. The excitement will come from seeing what Ooma puts out next- hopefully something to take advantage of picture messaging, video messaging, and better response times.

Diy Power From The Sun

August 30, 2010 by Ryan Narendra

There are many ways to generate DIY power for the home. One of the more common of these methods is by the use of solar energy. Persons interested in generating power from the sun should keep a few things in mind.

Generating energy from the sun only occurs if the sun is shining. If you live in areas where the sun does not shine for several weeks at the time, this method may not work for you. In addition, you will not generate electricity when the during the night. This can cause problems where nights are long in the winter and where there are many winter storms causing the sky to be overcast for long periods.

Since there are periods when you will not be able to generate electricity from your solar cells, you will need to have a back up plan. If you are going to remain connected to the grid, the easy way to take care of this problem is to sell back excess energy to the power company and then buy the power that you need for the night. This system has the advantage of providing power for big pull items such as air conditioners and ranges. Its disadvantage is that you still have to have access to a power line.

One way to take care of the problem of solar power after dark is to store excess energy that is produced in batteries. At one time this involved several large glass tanks that were used as storage batteries. Today, marine type batteries can also be used for energy storage.

Before energy generated from the sun or stored in batteries can be used it must be converted from dc power to ac power. The conversion is done using a power inverter. By using the inverter, you are able to run many of your normal appliances as normal and do not require special appliances.

Choose DIY power and save money in powering your home.

Learn About The Nokia N8

August 30, 2010 by Mark Walters

As one of the biggest names in the mobile market, Nokia has never seemed to quite transfer their success elsewhere into their smartphones. They seem to have had more near misses than big hits, and with the Apples and HTC’s seemingly unable to put a foot wrong, Nokia has needed to come up with something impressive for a while now, in order to avoid getting left behind – could the Nokia N8 be the answer? With massive improvement in a whole host of areas, does the N8 put Nokia back in the game?

There’s no denying the Nokia N8 is a good looking phone, which is nothing new in today’s smartphone market, but is quite an achievement for Nokia. With attractive lines and good proportions it looks like Nokia has been taking design lessons. The shape and size are enhanced by the quality of the aluminum casing, which all works together to give the N8 the quality look and feel that offers a serious challenge to the current market leaders. The fact that there’s no way to remove the battery doesn’t just help make the phone look good, but also sends the message that Nokia have got the operating system right as well, and you won’t be fiddling around with the battery to try and reset your phone.

The N8 has the required touchscreen display of any serious smartphone contender, and at 3.5 inches it’s more than adequate, for users and to keep up with the competition. What will grab your attention however, is the incredible 12 megapixel camera with xenon flash that is very neatly housed in the N8′s slimline body, capable of amazing photographs, as well as 720p HD video recording, with an mini HDMI output for playback on larger screens. Nokia may be trying to make a bit of a point with what it says is the best phone camera in the world, and it has succeeded. Better than any other available smartphone, it makes the N8 stand out from the crowd for the right reasons, and will make sure it gets some serious consideration alongside the top smartphones.

Nokia was keen to make sure the N8 wasn’t just a one trick pony, and the amazing camera is only part of the N8′s story. It also gets a new operating system, being the first phone to offer the Symbian 3 platform. A powerful processor makes sure everything zips along nicely, and with 16GB of storage for your music files, and an attractive player to make the most of them, the N8 certainly has a few more tricks up its sleeve.

You’d probably struggle to name any of Nokia’s previous phones that were genuine smartphones, but the Nokia N8 looks certain to get people’s attention. Whether it will challenge the likes of the iPhone 4 and the HTC Desire remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like the best thing Nokia has done in a long time.

HTC Desire : An Overview

August 30, 2010 by Mark Walters

Adopting the Android operating system has been one of the main reasons for HTC’s recent success, and has lead to successful smartphones like the Legend, Google’s Nexus One, and now the HTC Desire. Originally manufacturing smartphones for other companies to sell as their own, HTC’s own brand is becoming more and more popular. So what has their latest entry into the smartphone market got to offer consumers?

On the face of it, there doesn’t appear to be much difference between the Nexus One and the Desire. The Desire has a quality feel to it, even it it doesn’t benefit from the same unibody construction as the Nexus One. The touchscreen is a decent size and looks good, especially when you notice that it has both the traditional clickable buttons, as well as the additional ones located on the touchscreen. The optical trackball adds an air of sophistication without looking too delicate.

Not only a good size, the touchscreen is a 3.7 inch AMOLED display, delivering clear and bright, high resolution images. As well as quality, the Desire also has power, with 512 MB of RAM working with the 1GHz processor to make sure that whatever you are doing, the HTC Desire can cope without any loss of performance.

With a 5 megapixel camera that also has autofocus and an LED flash, the HTC Desire gives you everything you need to get great shots in just about all situations, especially with the wide 5:3 format making sure you get even more in. Video capture is high resolution, if not high definition, so recording moving pictures will give you results almost as good as your still images, and better than many of the other smartphones on the market.

HTC switched to the Android operating system in 2009 and this phone builds on what was a smart decision, offering the 2.1 version of the increasingly popular platform. On top of this, HTC have added their own Sense user interface, which makes navigating on the Desire easy and enjoyable. With additions to the Sense interface that include Friendstream, for putting all your social networking activity in one place, and Leap, which lets you view all your different home screens at once, the HTC Desire has got to be one of the most user-friendly smartphones available, which will only help its popularity.

The HTC Desire builds on the success of Google’s Nexus One and HTC’s own Legend, and gives smartphone users a little bit more. With impressive technology, and a user interface and software to match, HTC has reinforced its position as one of the big smartphone brands.
